Since my last update, I have---oh, lots of things. Lots of things. Shopped for bathroom fixtures; did 1/4 of the outstanding revisions for Software Carpentry (really wish the guy who bought the domain name would answer email, so I can buy it back); wrote the first draft of a story about the unpersoning of Sherlock Holmes; helped host DemoCamp (which went well, despite what one guy said about the Help Phone project my students presented); played chess with some former colleagues; got the last of the Software Carpentry diagrams to Nick Discenza; and tried to explain blogging to a publisher's rep ("so how's that different from email?" was followed by "but we put new books on our web site---just go to the pages for the categories you're interested in, and sort by date").

This weekend, I'm taking my students to dinner at Mezzetta and shopping for a new laptop (since the drive in mine has finally died the True Death). Right now, though, it's a sunny day, so I'm gonna go and soak up some UV.
